Why Do You Need to Protect Your PC?
Protecting your PC is rather like protecting your own health - and that of your family. If you don’t protect your health you go down with all sorts of horrible viruses. When you are sick with a virus, you find it difficult to do anything. When your PC gets a virus, it finds the same thing! It slows down considerably. Things seem to get sticky - in fact, just like you, your PC really doesn’t want to work properly when it gets a virus. What is a Computer Virus?A computer virus comes as a program of executable code that attaches itself to files and documents. This code can replicate just like the real virus that it is named after. When you send documents or files to other people over the Internet - through your email - the virus spreads and attacks their stuff. What is an Internet Attack? An Internet attack is when someone creates a new version of an old virus or other malware - or they may create a new malware completely - and sends it out over the Internet where it attacks many computers in a short period of time. In some cases the attack may be aimed only at companies that have a lot of networking and use their own server. The assault begins on the Domain name system server and is referred to as poisoning. What it actually does is when people type in a .com address, it tricks the server into going to a different website; one designed to install a great deal of spyware and adware on the computer without the victim even being aware of it.What are Pop Ups?Pop-ups are annoying! Did you ever just settle into reading something on a chosen website only to have an annoying square of unrelated text suddenly pop up in front of you and block what you are reading? That is a pop-up. Basically they are advertisements - rather like what you find in any newspaper or magazine, only those don’t block what you are reading. That’s the annoying part about pop-ups. They stop you from doing what you want to do until you have either read what they contained and clicked on it, or clicked on the little x on the top right to buzz it off. Either way you are interrupted- Save Your PC - How To Protect Your Computer
